You just need to drill a hole using a drillbit that is a fraction bigger than the peephole diameter. If putting one of these in a door without an existing peephole cutout it is still a pretty easy process. There is a cable that runs from the peephole to the camera that you need to be careful not to pinch while screwing the camera mount to the door. All it involves is removing the old peephole and insert the new peephole in the hole and then attaching the camera to the peephole. Simple to installĪll of these peephole cameras are easy to install. I wouldn’t recommend any viewer that is 120 degrees anyway, they don’t allow you to see if someone is to the side of the door against the wall and you can get a $5 standard peephole that has a better viewing angle. If you imagine you are the door and hold both arms out straight to the side that would be 180 degrees and everything in front of you a 180 degree camera would allow you to see.ġ80 degree viewer sees more of the front door area than a 160 degree viewer. If you’re unfamiliar with what degrees mean it refers to how much of the area in front of your door you will be able to see. Typically they come in 180 degrees, 160 degrees and 120 degrees. Peephole cameras and even traditional peepholes have differing degrees of viewing angles.
